I love Languedoc, therefore when I had the possibility to participate in Vinsud I couldn’t resist. So here I am ready to embark on a trip again. Vinisud is an industry event as wine fairs go and the target audience is wine professionals. Its focus is to promote wines from the Mediterranean basin.Italy is a sunny country and it is very much located at the heart of the Mediterranean. We meetall the requirements to participate in this wine trade show. Despite the common but ill-informed credence that wine trade shows in France are geared solely towards a French audience, this eventwill draw professionals from north the American (Canada and The US) market as well as others.Given the recent evolutions in the market and the increased interest in Asia this year Vinisud will also be a digital media event. They will aim for more web interaction, they plan on welcoming and connecting with bloggers and to take advantage of all the potential digital media offers. This proved to be all too hard to resist for a wine-tech geek like me.

The vines are on 18 hectares of gentle hills between Soave and Valpolicella. The harvest is done strictly by hand. The Villa Mattielli wines we will taste at Vinsud are:
